Making music, like any art form, is about creativity.  We at Prelude Music Arts studios believe in this fundamental principle as the underlying statement of our purpose and direction in providing customers with inspiring, moving music.  Not audio, not files, or tracks, or a background, as these things are tools….ways of using the music to a variety of ends.  Rather, at Prelude Music Arts we are dedicated to creating and producing music that enhances because it exploits the central idea, inspires because it develops the idea fully and expressively, and moves the listener because it draws extensively on the many traditions that make music in our present day.  The focus on creativity is how Prelude Music Arts is becoming part of musical tradition.

At Prelude Music Arts, the prevailing belief is that much can be said with a basic idea if there is a pervasive element of creativity behind the effort.  The managing composer at Prelude Music Arts believes that any person who truly understands an art form and who has had the opportunity to look deeply into a masterpiece will agree that good ideas in art, musical or otherwise, are infinite.  Prelude Music Arts is about good ideas in music.

At Prelude Music Arts we believe that since good musical ideas are infinite, then the ways that we can develop and express those ideas are infinite as well.  That is why we never give up on a good idea…neither one of ours, nor one of yours!  We at Prelude Music Arts are excited about good ideas.

Composers at Prelude Music Arts agree, for example, that given an understanding of the underlying nuance of a dramatic scene, a thoughtful and knowledgeable composer can draw on the implications of fundamental elements of rhythm, harmony, and melody, to create a basic idea that has an inherent potential to provide greatly effective enhancement of that dramatic nuance.  Composers at Prelude Music Arts know the significance of great starting points. 

When this company formed years ago, its chosen name, Prelude Music Arts, was intentional in suggesting what we do:  First and not necessarily most easily, start with a good idea.  Then, regardless of the incredible technology in use, or the style or eventual use of the product, or the medium, or the ensemble, or the performers, it is ALWAYS ABOUT THE MUSIC.  Finally, there are many purposes for the music that undergoes production here, be it performance entertainment, or education, or business, or film and television.  At Prelude Music Arts we read it, write it, compose it, arrange it, play it, record it, set it to words, dramatize it, produce it live and digitally, and we love it and know what it can mean in the lives of people.  Welcome to Prelude Music Arts.
